Writing your research in English? Let’s make it clearer.
Writing a thesis is hard. Writing it in your second (or third) language is harder. I’ve spent over 13 years supporting doctoral researchers, many of them multilingual, and I know where the sticking points are – structure, academic style, and working out what your supervisor actually means.
I work with you on your own writing. You keep authorship – I help you see what to change and why, so the next chapter comes more easily.
Sessions are online over Zoom, or in person in Swansea.
One-to-one support
Live session – £150
Fifty minutes on Zoom. Bring a section of your draft or your supervisor’s comments and we’ll work through them together on screen. A good place to start.
Want regular support?
My coaching packages include written feedback on your draft before each session:
- 6 sessions over 3 months – £1,800
- 12 sessions at your own pace, over up to 12 months – £3,600
Small-group sessions – £45 per person per hour
Groups of 4–6 researchers. Each session mixes teaching and coaching. I teach one area of research writing in English – structuring a paragraph, signposting your argument, sounding confident about your claims – and we practise it together.
Then I coach you on applying it to your own writing: what’s working, what’s stuck, and what to try next. Sometimes we’ll look at a group member’s draft, so you can see the ideas in real writing. Groups are good for building confidence with academic English and learning from how others tackle the same problems.
Already have a group ready to go? Let me know.
For universities
I also run group sessions for doctoral cohorts and graduate schools. If you’d like support for your multilingual researchers, get in touch.
